I can come to you, you can come to my studio - if it isn't torn up for some project or other :-) , possibly virtually, or we can make art on location - plein air.
Need special activity for a group? Try a custom Paint and Sip get-together. It's a fabulous idea for fund raisers, or teambuilding. We can have BYO beer/wine, or be alcohol free with some of the great non-alcoholic options that are coming available. I'm experienced with teaching children to people over 65. I enjoy working with all learning styles and abilities.
I've had amazing opportunities to learn from some very talented artists and teachers. I want to pass forward the excitement and knowledge that I've gained over the years. Everyone is creative, we all just need to find a voice. I want to help you grow through art.
To be human is to create. We all have a creative spark.

Think back to your childhood - what did you like to do? Did you like to tell stories? Did you prefer to communicate: verbally, visually, physically ....or another way? Did you like to build things? Find order in chaos -or chaos in order? Did you enjoy dance? Or Music? Photography? Any and all of your life experiences add to your unique toolbox for creating. Even if you spent your entire life staring at a blank wall, in a silent room - we have tons of inspiration for your own unique creative expression.
Humans are born to create, and some of us loose our way as we grow up. The good news is that you can always return. It is an ember, waiting for you to breathe it into being. Creating is good for your soul. We can create just to enjoy the process. Your aim doesn't need to be perfection, or replicating someone else's work, your aim can be creating for the sake of creating - using the mediums you are drawn to. Art is art. Art, and its creation, make this a better world for everyone.
Be brave, take the leap, and start creating!
Art lessons that I teach range from $45/hour/person to $75+/hour depending on medium, and materials needed. Group lessons are discounted.

I'll let you know the basic supplies that you'll need to get started, and if needed, you can try out different types of materials before you commit to purchasing them for yourself. I can give you resources for best pricing and/or quality material, and recommend learning mediums that have worked for me.
For instance: did you know that you don't need to buy a different tube of paint for each color you want to communicate? Color Theory can save you money and frustration in supplies....
I want to help you on your way, exploring and creating.
I have experience in: watercolors, gouache, acrylic, oil (solvent free), pastel, pencil, ink, collage, mixed media, sculpture, diorama etc. and lately I've been trying my hand at block printing/gel printing. My style is loose, and lately has leaned in the direction of abstract. I also have experience with more representational art.

I can share what I've learned about displaying work in art shows and/or sales. I can share best practices to create artwork that will last.
I've enjoyed teaching from grade school age to older adults. I have experience, and enjoy working with, people that have neurodivergent abilities, or unique physical, emotional, or mental traits that can make learning art different. I like adjusting my teaching style to communicate. I also try to keep things fun.
Sometimes nothing is more intimidating than a blank page waiting for a painting. I understand the uncomfortable feelings like anxiety or frustration that can up for you as you work. I have experience helping creators going through artist block, and helping people get un-stuck. By finding a way through, we'll reap the rewards of confidence, self-knowledge, and maybe even feel empowered.
I love working with people on color theory, composition, and planning a piece of art work. I have an accepting, open, and encouraging style. I'll do my best to meet you where you are in your abilities.
You can explore the tabs above: "My Artistic Process" and "Blog" to get more of a feel for who I am, and where I'm coming from.
I get inspiration and learn as much from helping you, as you (hopefully) do from me.
