Creative Connection

Lessons

I offer occasional art lessons and creative sessions when my schedule allows. These may take the form of one-on-one meetings, small group sessions, or short-term explorations rather than ongoing weekly instruction.

My current focus is on creating spacious, supportive learning experiences rather than high-volume teaching. If you’re curious about working together, you’re welcome to reach out and we can explore what might be a good fit.

What would you like to explore?

Every learner arrives with different interests, rhythms, and goals. Some people want to build technical skills, others are returning to art after a long break, and many are simply looking for a place to begin again.

I’m especially interested in meeting people at their point of curiosity — whether that’s watercolor, mixed media, creative confidence, or reconnecting with art as a meaningful part of daily life.

There’s no required level of experience. We start where you are.

Learning

Learning, for me, is less about mastering techniques (mastery comes through experience) and more about developing attention, patience, and trust in your own process. I value experimentation, questions, and moments of not knowing.

Sessions tend to be conversational and responsive, shaped by what’s unfolding rather than a rigid curriculum. This approach works especially well for adults who learn best through doing, reflecting, and adjusting as they go.

I believe that making art is a human capacity, not a special talent reserved for a few. Creativity doesn’t require perfection, speed, or comparison — it requires permission.

This belief is at the heart of my teaching. Whether someone is picking up a brush for the first time, returning after many years, or navigating changes in memory or ability, art can still be a meaningful, accessible experience.

This is why I especially enjoy offering occasional sessions in memory care and assisted living settings, where art can support connection, expression, and presence without pressure.

Lessons - what's involved? Prices?

Because my availability changes, lessons are offered on a limited, case-by-case basis. Sessions may be held in person or via Zoom, depending on location and needs.

Pricing and structure are discussed individually to ensure clarity and alignment. If you’re interested, the best next step is simply to reach out — we can talk through possibilities without obligation.

I’m less interested in producing “good” art than in helping people stay engaged, curious, and kind to themselves while making it.

I have experience in: watercolors, gouache, acrylic, oil (solvent free), pastel, pencil, ink, collage, mixed media, sculpture, diorama, gel printing, and bead weaving. My artistic style is loose, and lately has leaned in the direction of abstract. I also have experience with more representational art.
