I'm a visual artist, and graduate student in Professional Mental Health Counseling: Addictions at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. My background includes animal science, business management, and years of creative work, teaching, and mentoring.
I hold a B.S. in Animal Sciences and an MBA from California State University, Fresno. My work has taken me through equine instruction, industrial management and organizational leadership, and visual art. I'm now preparing for a career in counseling, with particular interests in addiction medicine, grief, human development, and the relationships between individuals and the systems around them.
Holly Oak Studio began as a home for my artwork and commissions. While graduate school currently takes priority over accepting new commissions, this website remains a portfolio of my creative work and a place to share the ideas, experiences, and projects that continue to capture my curiosity.

A free-ranging flock with its own relationships, routines, alliances, and opinions. Years of observing their behavior have given me an appreciation for the complexity of animal social life.

Each goat has a distinct personality, and place within the group. Caring for them involves understanding behavior, social dynamics, health, and the occasional creative approach to containment.

My dogs share their home with an assortment of livestock, cats, and poultry. Managing those relationships involves training, observation, appropriate boundaries, and plenty of patience.
